Documentary | Music | Historical | Political | Literary

In the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, as Donald Trump headed for the White House, Eugene Jarecki (The House I Live In (2014), Why We Fight (2005)) drove Elvis Presley’s Rolls Royce across America in an attempt to discover heart and soul of the country 40 years after the death of the King of Rock n Roll. Elvis’ life story is held up as the embodiment of the American Dream and his myth, legend, impact and influence are dissected here through interviews with curious passing folk as well as the famous and the informed. A long and diverse list of contributors includes David Simon, Emmylou Harris, Alec Baldwin and Chuck D, and there are some glorious musical moments in the back of the car.
