Alma (Sara Luna Zorić) is a teenager who has grown up in the Netherlands and has a close relationship with her mother. When she hears her father has been taken to hospital in Bosnia, she is curious about a man she doesn’t know in a country she is keen to explore.
She determinedly sets off on a mission, roping in her petty criminal cousin Emir (Ernad Prnjavorac) and his friend Denis (Lazar Dragojević) to be guides and protectors. Acknowledging Jim Jarmusch as a key inspiration, Ena Sendijarević has created a lovely, off-kilter road movie for her refreshing debut feature. MH
