With accompaniment by pianist Morgan Cooke
An emigrant comedy tells the tale of an Irish girl, Patricia O’Day, who comes to America to claim a fortune left to her late brother. Marion Davies shines in the lead, impishly masquerading as a boy and cleverly negotiating the world of high finance, inheritance and steam ships while falling in love with her cousin Larry Delevan (Harrison Ford). Directed by Sidney Olcott (O’Kalem films 1910–1915), and produced by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, the film was a huge box office success.
