Der Golem
- This event has passed.
Widely considered to be an inspirational title in the horror genre, Der Golem is a classic example of early German Expressionist cinema. Taking its themes from folkloric legend, Der Golem tells the tale of Rabbi Loew, a Jewish community leader who creates a huge monster from clay to help save his people from persecution. One of the very few films from the early 1920s that hasn’t been lost or destroyed, it has nevertheless often been shown from prints of a poor, deteriorated quality. We are delighted to present this special presentation cine-concert screening of a new 4K restoration, returning the film to its original colour-tinted glory. SE
