Fitzcarraldo

Werner Herzog is not one to easily give up, however his will and determination were tested when directing the 1982 action epic drama, Fitzcarraldo. 

It's the story of an opera-loving Irishman, living in Peru, who decides to move his steam ship over the mountain to a rubber rich valley, a gargantuan task not only for the main character played by Klaus Kinski and his crew, but also for Herzog who had to deal with Kinski and unforeseen production issues.
