Free Radicals

It’s been a year of acronyms in the filmmaking world as SAG-AFTRA and the WGA went on strike because of, well, AI. The use of Artificial Intelligence in the creative industries became something of a bogeyman. Despite its prevalence in modern life it impinged on our thinking in ways which we had never considered. 

So when the opportunity arose, we could not resist introducing one film to the programme that explores the creative possibilities of AI. Even so, we will always celebrate the resourceful, independent and visionary filmmakers who exist in artistic freedom outside of the world of those aforementioned acronyms - the “free radicals.” And long may it be so!
