Lone traveller Elena finds herself on a car ferry heading to a small island. Antonis is on the same ferry, travelling to bury an ossuary box. When his car breaks down Elena offers him a ride, and after Antonis is refused permission to bury the box in the graveyard, she joins him in the search for a suitable burial place.
