Mighty Afrin: In The Time of Floods
Twelve-year-old Afrin lives alone on the banks of Brahmaputra River in Bangladesh. The torrential downpours and flooding of the monsoon season causes most of the residents to flee. When Afrin’s house becomes submerged, she decides to search for her estranged father, travelling alone on a small boat to the capital of Dhaka, where the higher grounds have resulted in over 10 million refugees flocking to the city.
Filmmaker Angelos Rallis immerses us in Afrin’s world, making us witnesses to her world, her dreams, and environmental disasters both natural and man-made. SE
This screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the film's director Angelos Rallis.
