Anna, a harassed middle-class mother of three, confronts her lawyer husband and one of her friends, convinced they are having an affair. With this suggestion weighing on her mind, she still has to take on the kids and domestic chores while edging closer to breaking point. One Day impressively dramatises the mundane, infusing scenes where a child is being dropped at a ballet lesson or a dishwasher is being emptied with weight and drama. Zsófia Szamosi is compelling in the lead role and Zsófia Szilágyi has crafted a debut feature that daringly probes the darkness of the everyday.
