Budapest, 1913. Irisz Leiter (Juli Jakab) travels to the city to apply for a job as a milliner in a store founded by her late parents, who died in tragic circumstances when Irisz was a child. She also hears disturbing rumours about a brother she has never met and sets out to find the truth behind them. The keenly anticipated follow-up to the Oscar®-winning Son of Saul (2015), László Nemes’ artful, absorbing film reprises the intimate close up technique that made his previous film so unsettling and the beautiful, bleached-out sepia tones accentuate Sunset’s fragile, dreamlike qualities.
