Treasa O’Brien’s short The Blow-In (2016) peeked briefly into the lives of some of those European, Brazilian and Irish people resident in the County Galway town of Gort. For Town of Strangers, the indefatigable director uses the device of an open-call film audition to meet the locals. She encounters a diverse cast, including young Irish Travellers, English New Age hippies, Brazilian factory workers and Syrian refugees and asks them to share their dreams and stories. The result is a distinctive film that is both wonderfully offbeat and thoughtful.

There will be a post-screening Q&A with the Director.

Accompanied by a screening of The Blow-In (8 mins).
