As a local festival with a global focus, CIFF has celebrated and promoted diversity and inclusion for 69 years. We welcome all visitors to screenings and events and are committed to ensuring that the Festival, its venues and activities, are accessible and inclusive.
- Festival Volunteers are onsite at each venue to support access needs during screenings.
- Our Festival screening venues have step-free access, accessible bathroom facilities, and wheelchair spaces in their auditoria – please see below for full details.
- All non-English language films will be subtitled.

Parking
- North Main Street Car Park (021) 422 2999 Kyrl’s Quay, Centre, Cork
- Directly across the road from us, you’ll find the North Main Street pay-and-display multi-story car park, easily accessible using the postcode T12 HK74. This secure car park offers 330 spaces, ensuring a hassle-free parking experience.
- The North Main Street car park operates from Monday to Saturday, opening its gates at 07:30 in the morning and closing at 21:30 in the evening. On Sundays, the car park opens slightly later, starting at 11:30 am and closes at 21:30.
- For parking outside of these hours, limited on-street parking may be available
Hard of Hearing
Our auditoriums feature a Loop system for users of suitable hearing aids.

Parking
- South Main Street is the closest drop off point. Please note that this is a busy street with an active bus lane.
- Triskel does not have any parking. There are several accessible parking spaces on South Main Street (approx 130m from Triskel) and several public car parks nearby. The pedestrian entrance for Q-Park on Grand Parade is approx 220m from Triskel. Q-Park offers a discount to Triskel customers. 50 Grand Parade Parking/Park It (this car park has entrances/exits on South Main Street and Grand Parade) are approx 280m from Triskel.
- We have an arrangement with Q-Park to give discounts. It needs to be booked in advance – instructions at the link: https://triskelartscentre.ie/parking-q-park/
5pm – 10am parking every night at both Grand Parade and St Finbarr’s car parks. All Saturday and Sunday parking at St Finbarr’s car park.
Triskel patrons save 25% and Triskel Cinema Members save 30%. You will find a parking discount code in the email confirmation you receive once you book a ticket at Triskel Box Office.

Directions
Triskel is located on Tobin Street, off South Main Street in Cork city centre. Tobin Street connects Grand Parade and South Main Street.
From Grand Parade: take Tobin Street between SoHo and Singer’s Corner – we’re the big white building on your left.
From South Main Street: take Tobin Street between Subway and Dixy Chicken – we’re the big white building on your right.
Wheelchair Access
- Access is via Triskel’s main entrance on Tobin Street
- There is a lift from the Box Office/foyer area on the ground floor to the main floor of Triskel Christchurch
- Once through the main door of Triskel Christchurch, there is a ramp to your left that takes you to the main seating area
- The entire central aisle is available to wheelchair users
- When booking your tickets, we advise booking an aisle seat in any row (or an aisle seat and the one adjacent if coming with a friend/carer)
- You can place your chair alongside that row and enjoy the show
Accessible Toilets
- Triskel has two accessible toilets, one in the Box Office/foyer area on the ground floor, the other on the first floor (same floor as the main floor of Triskel Christchurch)
- The accessible toilet on the ground floor contains a baby changing table
- The accessible toilets are usable by any gender

- Kent Train station is a five-minute walk to The Everyman. Coming out of the train station turn left on Lower Glanmire Rd. Directions
- The Everyman is located in the centre of Cork City, within walking distance of both bus and train stations. Coming from St. Patrick Street, cross St. Patrick’s Bridge, continue up Bridge Street and turn right onto MacCurtain Street. The Everyman is halfway down MacCurtain Street, on the right-hand side and near the Metropole Hotel.

- There is step-free access to The Everyman Bar.
- The Everyman Bar is open an hour before each performance and remains open after the show has finished.We serve a varied selection of drinks, many of which are locally sourced. Our wine list is selected by Cork’s own Bubble Brothers, who have been distributing and retailing distinctive wines and champagnes since 1997.
- We stock craft beer from Franciscan Well Brewery here in Cork along with craft cider from our friends in Cronin’s Brewery in Kerry.
- We also serve a wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks including beers, cider, gin and sparkling wine. We also carry some other popular brands of beers and spirits.
Audio-Described Performances and Touch Tour
Live verbal commentary on the visual elements of a production is broadcast through a headset for those who need it. A touch tour before the show is also available.

- An elevator is situated on the left side of the Opera House. This enables wheelchair users’ complete access to all levels of Cork Opera House.
- COH staff is on hand to assist you at all times.

Hard of Hearing
- An induction loop is in operation for patrons with hearing difficulties. People with hearing aids should set them to ‘T’.

Relaxed Screenings at CIFF (Family & Young People, The Stimming Pool)
CIFF strives to be a welcoming and comfortable environment for all of its patrons. Below is additional access information on what families who might be attending with a young person with autism or sensory sensitivities can expect at each of our Family screenings at the Festival.
Family Events at The Everyman
(Family Gala: Fox and Hare Save the Forest; Bambi, A Tale of Life in the Woods; The Magic Reindeer – Saving Santa’s Sleigh)
- TVs/music in the entrance will be turned off before and after the screening
- Lights remain on at a low level in the theatre during the performance
- Guests are free to talk and leave their seats during the performance
- Where possible, dryers in the toilets will be manually lowered to reduce noise – please follow signage
Family Events at the ARC Cinema
(Paddington in Peru; Family-Friendly Shorts)
During sensory-friendly screenings, the ARC makes a variety of adjustments to accommodate individuals with sensory sensitivities. This includes:
- Reducing the volume of the film
- Dimming the lights
- Eliminating sudden or startling sounds
- Guests are free to move around, vocalise, or take breaks as needed, creating a relaxed and accepting atmosphere
Young Hearts (Family Screening) & The Stimming Pool at the Triskel
- House lights will remain during the performance so the auditorium will be illuminated
- Guests are free to talk and leave their seats during the performance
- Hand dryers in the toilets will be switched off and paper towels provided
- The seating arrangement in Triskel is different from a regular cinema, as instead of individual seats, it has church pews / benches
OTHER INFORMATION
- We recommend that families book their tickets online in advance to the screening to avoid queueing.
At the venue:
- Guests can book their tickets online in advance, and download them to their phones. Staff will simply have to scan the tickets from the guests’ phone.
- CIFF staff trained to be welcoming, inviting and accommodating to families’ needs
- Clear signage and clearly identifiable CIFF volunteers and staff
- The TVs in the entrance of the cinema and music will be turned off before and after the screening
In the cinema:
- Lights remaining on at a low level in the cinema during the screening
- Guests are free to talk and leave their seats during the film screening
This activity will form the start of a long-term strategy to enhance and improve CIFF’s cinema offering to young audiences through its programming and as part of its wider policy of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
