Early Bird Submissions Deadline
Our Programming Team has just returned from the Berlinale and the search for the latest and best films for the 70th Cork International Film Festival is well underway. Submit your film by the Early Bird deadline on Thursday, 28th March to take advantage of discounted submission fees. Submissions will remain open until July/August with the Regular submission deadline on Friday, 30th May.
As we approach International Women’s Day on Saturday March 8th, CIFF is proud to highlight the importance of gender equality in the film industry, including through the presentation of the prestigious Audentia Award in partnership with the Council of Europe’s Eurimages Fund in 2025. This €30,000 award celebrates courage and creativity and supports a female filmmaker in the development of their next feature. The winner will be announced during our 70th edition this November.

St. Patrick’s Festival
In celebration of St. Patrick’s Festival, CIFF is presenting a free online programme featuring two films – one Irish short and one international feature.
As our nation comes together in celebration, we’ve curated a programme that offers alternative angles on the notions of national identity. Discover or rediscover the Irish gem Room Taken, which premiered at CIFF2023, and hear from director TJ O’Grady-Peyton as he reflects on his experience with the film, its awards run (IFTA, Oscars®…), and the importance of a country being a welcoming nation.
Adding an early summery vibe to the mix, enjoy Guillaume Brac’s joyful two-part film July Tales, Four boys, four girls, all from different countries. Beyond spending Bastille Day in Paris together, what do they have in common?
This free but ticketed programme is available to watch online from 10am on Friday, 14th to 11:59pm Monday, 17th March 2025.
March Festivals
The 12th First Cut! Youth Film Festival runs until 8th March in Youghal, and Cork International Film Festival is delighted to partner with First Cut! to present a programme of stories that are both local and international in setting, but capture universal feelings. Join us on Saturday, 8th March, at 1:45pm in The Regal Cinema, Youghal, for this special screening followed by a Q&A with filmmakers from the programme, moderated by CIFF Senior Programmer Don O’Mahony.
In Cork City, Cork French Film Festival runs from 6th to 9th March in The Arc Cinema. A celebration of French cinema in Ireland, the programme showcases a diverse selection of classic and contemporary French films.
Young Programmers 2025
Are you a young cinema buff or do you know someone aged 18-24 who is mad about film? CIFF is looking for passionate young cinephiles to join the CIFF2025 team as part of our exciting Young Programmers Project. Under the guidance of CIFF’s Programming Team, selected participants will gain hands-on experience in the curatorial process of a film festival.
They will develop a comprehensive understanding of festival programming, from screener to screening, along with insight into marketing, licensing, distribution, event management, and networking.
