Cork International Film Festival proudly presents a special online programme of Irish language short films selected from its 65th Festival edition in 2020. Available to watch on our Digital Festival Platform (free but registration required), audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy three short cinematic gems as Gaeilge, a Q&A with director Shaun Dunne hosted by CIFF Senior Programmer Don O’Mahony, and hear more about Cork International Film Festival. Supported by an tOireachtas.

Celebrating the Irish language on film, the shorts programme comprises:

‘Dúirt Tú’ (‘You Said’)

2020 | 9 mins

Directors: Shaun Dunne and Zoe Ní Riordáin

Producer: Tristan Heanue

2020 Best Irish Short Director winner

Two former partners are divided by distance. One wishes to reconnect, the other refuses to answer the call.

‘Ballast’

2020 | 16 mins

Director: Jesse Gilbert

Producer: Jesse Gilbert

2020 Best Cork Short winner

Beset by grief, a man builds himself the means to escape the pain of his existence.

‘Iarscoláire’ (‘Past Pupil’)

2019 | 13 mins

Director: Shaun Dunne

Producer: Aideen Howard

An abandoned school building in Dublin opens its doors to former pupils for one day only…
