First Cut! Youth Film Festival Returns in person and online with CIFF as Digital Partner

Mar 04, 2022 |
News

The First Cut! Youth Film Festival, an annual event dedicated to showcasing new films by young filmmakers (aged 12 – 24), takes place 9th – 12th March in cinema and online. Cork International Film Festival is thrilled to be Digital Partner once again with FCYFF and will present a specially curated programme of short films for young people from last November’s Festival, including:

Shots For Monday Morning (Dir. Emily Power, Eliot Burke, Geraldine Boyle, Lucie Krieger, Ciara O’Donnell, Robert Dyson, Damon Walsh, Aisling O’Connell)

Faitíos (The First Fear) (Dir. Martha Fitzgerald)

Morning Beat (Dir. Ian Fallon)

As Easy As Riding A Bike (Dir. Ronan Burke)

Fall Of The Ibis King (Dir. Josh O’Caoimh, Mikai Geronimo)

FLASH_THUNDER93 (Dir. Reuben Harvey)

A panel discussion will follow the screening with Ian Fallon, Ronan Burke and Reuben Harvey and moderated by CIFF Senior Programmer Don O’Mahony.

The 13th edition of FCYFF is an in-person festival once again, after a completely online edition in 2021. Audiences from all over Ireland and abroad are invited to join in at the beautiful seaside town of Youghal for a completely free four-day programme of events including: open call short film, and feature film screenings, workshops, conversations with some of the leading filmmakers in Ireland and more.

These will be followed by a day of online screenings and events hosted by CIFF on Sunday 13th March. You can browse the programme and book free but limited tickets here.
