CIFF Young (Film) Programmers Project: A New Training Project for Young People

Aug 08, 2023 |
News

A peak into Film Festival programming, from screener to screening, for young people.

Cork International Film Festival is delighted to announce our pilot edition of our Young (Film) Programmers training project.

Under the tutelage of CIFF’s Programming Team and Education & Engagement Coordinator, a panel of four young people will learn about the curatorial process of film festivals, developing a comprehensive understanding of festival programming, from screener to screening, but also marketing, licensing and distribution, event management and networking.

CIFF’s Young (Film) Programmers will support our Programming team in the selection of the films eligible for our Festival Youth Jury Award, and will present the Youth Jury Award Programme at our Festival in November 2023.

The aim of this project is to provide young cinephiles with a professional training opportunity to engage with the film festival industry, and engage with cinema programming for young people, by young people.

Meet our panel (clockwise from top left): Hazel O’ Leary, Amy Bogue, Sarah Jessica Dunne and Ciaran Shanahan
