CIFF’s Cruinniú na nÓg 2025 Programme


Cork International Film Festival is delighted to present a FREE lineup of Festival short films from Ireland and Europe that will inspire and delight as part of this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg, our national celebration of creativity for children and young people.

Immerse yourself in a handpicked selection of enchanting short animations and live-action film gems, along with a chat with ‘Tina Times Two’ director Bonnie Dempsey and CIFF Senior Programmer Don O’Mahony!

Watch online for free from 9am to 9pm on Saturday, 7th June.

There is limited availability so book your free tickets now. After this content becomes available on Saturday 7th June at 9am, you’ll have 12 hours to start watching. Once you begin, you’ll have 30 hours to finish watching.

The Programme:

COQUILLE

Justine Aubert, Cassandra Bouton, Grégoire Callies, Maud Chesneau, Anna Danton, Loic Girault, Gatien Peyrude, Justine Raux | France | 2024 | 6 mins

In a French rocky inlet, Bernard, a small and selfish hermit crab loses his shell. He will has to face dangers of the beach to find an other one. In the company of a weird little crab which helps protecting him, both will lives multiples adventures that will befriend them.


PUFFERFISH

In an ocean full of big, bad fish, the pufferfish is trying to seem as big and strong as possible.

A 3D animated short film that follows the imaginative adventures of a pencil and its friends, using their unique abilities to help each other in unexpected situations, inside of the school where all of them live.

On the road to her family vacation, Olivia, a 10-year old girl hooked on her phone and social media, is abandoned by her parents in a highway service area. Alone with her plushie, he tries to get her off her phone to play, but things take an unexpected turn!


TINA TIMES TWO + DISCUSSION WITH BONNIE DEMPSEY

Bonnie Dempsey | Ireland | 2020 | 15 mins

A surreal coming-of-age fable about a lonely girl whose wish comes true when she gains a magical friend: an exact double of herself! But the dream turns into a nightmare when her double wants to live her own life.

Bonnie Dempsey

A graduate of Ireland’s National Film School, Dun Laoghaire, Bonnie is a television and documentary director who has been making work since 2000. She is the owner of Dyehouse Films, and she has collaborated on a number of children’s films, including Tina Times Two, with writer Rodney Lee. Their latest film, Glitch, has just started its festival journey
