Don’t miss this chance to see at the Everyman Sergio Leone’s epic western, universally regarded as one of the greatest films ever made and whose grandeur is hightened by Ennio Morricone’s haunting and iconic soundtrack. A heartbreaking revenge story, set at a turning point in American history.

Jill McBain (Claudia Cardinale) arrives in the Wild West to join her new husband, only to discover that he and his children have been brutally massacred. She encounters a mysterious, silent gunslinger known only as Harmonica (Charles Bronson), who doesn’t seem to fear Frank (Henry Fonda), a ruthless killer hire by the railroad tycoon who desires the Jill’s land.

With a meticulous attention to detail that captures the spirit of the American West, Sergio Leone crafted a visually stunning film, alternating grand panoramas, lingering close-ups, and innovative use of visual storytelling, particularly in the iconic opening sequence. The legendary cast deliver their most iconic performances, with Henry Fonda famously playing against type as a ruthless villain.

This screening is supported by Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Dublino.
