Phantasm
Orphaned teen Mike uncovers more than he bargained for when spying on his older brother’s friend in the local graveyard, plunging himself and brother Jodie into a supernatural battle with a mysterious mortician.
Made by director Don Coscarelli when he was just 23 years old, with money raised from his father and local businesses, Phantasm went from being a limited release to a box office hit, and is still regarded as a surreal horror classic, remaining a huge influence on modern horror, and launching a successful franchise. But as with all Disruptors worth their salt, you cannot top the energy of the original.
