About the film

Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of the most well-known of Spanish wines, with this captivating documentary, directed by several times Goya Award Winner and Emmy Nominated José Luis Lopez-Linares. Through captivating photography, careful editing and immersive music, he explores the vibrant evolution of the Spanish wine industry, Lopez-Linares shows the interaction between new generations and the historic wineries of Rioja, and highlights the relationship between the tradition’s origins and its powerful appeal on the international scene. It’s interesting for all, with a particular delight for wine lovers!

About the event

The evening will begin with a glass of Rioja, accompanied by LAZO 100% Ibérico acorn-fed jamón, specially flown in from Spain for the occasion. Guests will also enjoy a selection of Spanish and Irish charcuterie and cheeses, served with fresh baguettes from our own Ballymaloe Bread Shed—a perfect complement to the film. The evening will conclude with a tasting of Rioja wines, hosted by Colm McCan, offering a refined exploration of the region’s celebrated vintages.
