Award-winning documentary ‘Gaza’ in Cinemas Now

Cork Film Festival hosted a special preview screening of award-winning documentary ‘Gaza’ in The Gate Cinema – thanks to all who attended and donated generously to the Gaza Red Carpet Human Rights Film Festival Appeal, initiated by Fine Point Films. Over €650 was raised in support of the Appeal to reinstate this film festival which aims to provide Palestinians with a rare opportunity to explore their dreams and to enjoy a little well-deserved escapism.

‘Gaza’, which had its World Premiere at Sundance, goes on release today. Catch this must-see documentary in The Gate Cinemas, Cork.

First Programme Announcement of CFF2019: ‘Personal Growth’ by Vicky Langan & Maximilian Le Cain In Partnership with Sirius Arts Centre

Opening + Artists’ Talk, 1.30pm, November 9th. Free admission.
Continuing until December 20th in Sirius Arts Centre

Over the course of their decade-long filmmaking collaboration, Vicky Langan and Maximilian Le Cain have created an intimate and distinctive universe, built on a striking match between Langanʼs magnetic, often troubling and intense presence as a performer and Le Cainʼs hypnotically disruptive visual rhythms. ‘Personal Growth’ is a new Super-8 film work, presented as part of Cork Film Festival in Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh – an enigmatic, fragmented piece that could have been filmed at any point in the past sixty years. Its grainy, black and white texture vividly renders the coastal seascapes where it was filmed and in which Langan & Le Cain appear as a couple in this wild terrain, as if it were a domestic arena.

Join us on Saturday, November 9th for the Opening + Artists’ Talk with Vicky Langan and Maximilian Le Cain, hosted by CFF Senior Programmer Don O’ Mahony. In Partnership with Sirius Arts Centre.
