Derek Vs Derek
On a country road in Devon, England, live two implacably opposed neighbouring farmers, both called Derek. One believes in intensive industrial farming, the other is giving his entire farm over to nature.
As tempers fray, wild animals escape, and the land is transformed, the film charts the two Derek's turbulent but funny relationship.

THE BIGGER PICTURE:
The Soil That Feeds Us
In the wake of an exceptionally dry summer in Ireland, farming and agriculture professionals discuss how we take care of the soil that sustains our farms and food systems. What can we do to protect its health and resilience in the face of increasingly unpredictable weather and a changing climate?
Join us for a public debate exploring the vital relationship between soil, farming and food — and the urgent question of how we ensure that the land beneath our feet remains capable of nurturing life for generations to come.
Featuring the protagonists of Derek vs Derek, alongside John Murphy, co-founder of Our Farm at Bushy Park in East Cork, the conversation will bring together different perspectives on the challenges facing Irish agriculture, the choices available to farmers, and the role we all have to play in caring for the soil that feeds us.
Come along, listen, question and participate in this important conversation.
Guests: Protagonists Derek Bow, Derek Banbury, Linda Banbury; John Murphy (My Farm at Bushy Park); Moderator: Rachel Martin, Agriculture Editor, Irish Examiner.
Irish Sign Language will be provided by a sign language interpreter during The Bigger Picture.
