The warm days of summer have finally arrived and now that we’re half way through the year, the team at Cork International Film Festival are busy planning an exciting programme of films and events for the 67th edition of CIFF this November. A reminder for filmmakers that the late deadline for submitting features, documentaries, international shorts and international doc shorts is this Friday, 15th July. Our next stop on the CIFF Film Club: European Shorts Season tour is one of the oldest festivals in the world dedicated to short films, Krakow Film Festival in Poland. Join us on Tuesday, 26th July at The Gate Cinema, Cork City. Our exclusive Culinary Cinema Event in association with the luxurious Montenotte Hotel takes place this Wednesday 13th July and we now have a very small handful of extra tickets available to purchase, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Finally, we are delighted to have been nominated in two categories of this year’s Business to Arts Awards: Best Small Sponsorship and Judges’ Special Recognition Awards, recognising our creative partnerships with The Gate Cinema, Murphy’s and ESB Energy for Generations Fund. CIFF2022 LATE SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED: FRIDAY 22nd JULY
Deadline fast approaching…! We are accepting late submissions of features, feature documentaries, international shorts, and international documentary shorts until Friday, 22nd July for the 67th CIFF. Submit your films now via our online submissions platform, FilmFreeway.
We look for interesting new voices and work that pushes boundaries and takes risks, and we champion and celebrate excellence in filmmaking throughout our programme. We also recognise filmmakers’ achievements through our 10 Awards, three of which are Academy Award® qualifying.
ADDITIONAL TICKET ALERT: CIFF CULINARY EVENT AT THE MONTENOTTE HOTEL
We have last-minute availability of two tickets for our exclusive CIFF Culinary Cinema event in association with The Montenotte Hotel this Wednesday, 13th July, 5.30pm. Our very special film and dining experience at the elegant Montenotte Hotel includes a screening of Haute Cuisine, directed by Christian Vincent, followed by a specially matched three-course dinner in The Gallery Suite, looking out over a spectacular backdrop of the Victorian gardens and the Cork city skyline.
Tickets: €60 / €54 (Festival Friends) – includes welcome drink, film, three-course dinner and a glass of wine.
These very limited additional tickets are available only on a first-come-first-served basis.
Note: guests will be seated at banquet tables of eight and ten in The Gallery Suite.
SHORT FILMS FROM POLAND WITH CIFF FILM CLUB: EUROPEAN SHORTS SEASON
Guest-curated by one of the oldest events in the world dedicated to documentary, animated and short feature films, our next instalment of the CIFF Film Club: European Shorts Season will showcase a programme of beautiful animated and live action Polish short films selected by our friends at Krakow Film Festival. Join us on Tuesday, 26th July at 6pm in The Gate Cinema, Cork City and enjoy a philosophical parable about the elusiveness of happiness in Prince In a Pastry Shop (directed by Katarzyna Agopsowicz); family secrets blending animation and archival materials in We Have One Heart (Katarzyna Warzecha); a documentary from the borderlands of realism and fairy tale in A Little Bit of Paradise (Andrzej Cichocki); a human comedy of love and death in Love in Times of Coal-Based Economy (Tomasz Siwiński); and a story about growing up too fast and making difficult decisions in Alice and the Frog (Olga Bołądź).
