A Common Story (Una Storia)
Erika (Alba Rohrwacher) and Mauro (Guido Caprino) live a simple life in the countryside, their days made up of comforting routines. When their daughter Irene leaves to study far from home, their house feels empty, and the equilibrium on which the couple has based their lives seems to crumble.
What initially appears to be a case of empty nest syndrome soon develops into a profound and intimate reckoning. Erika, who has always filled her days caring for others, suddenly finds herself adrift. Mauro, who grew up under the emotional tyranny of an authoritarian father, tries to cope by filling the void in his own way, but ends up having to confront a fragility he has never acknowledged.
Can they transform themselves and, consequently, their love?
