UCC Puttnam Scholars 2026: A Little Closer

How do you move forward, when each new step pulls you back? While keeping a friend company on a night out, a young woman grapples with the past, when faced with questions about her own identity.

The Puttnam Scholars programme offers UCC students the opportunity to work with David Puttnam to jointly produce a short film.

This year’s Puttnam Scholars are Bruna Barreto Fontoura, Shannon Cotter, Tereza Feixová, Tomás Flynn, Caoimhe Forde Atkinson, Aisling Knox, Darren O’Connor and Lucy Raeke.

Followed by a Q&A with the Scholars and David Puttnam.

In partnership with University College Cork.

Full day package: First Take, Puttnam Scholars and CIFF Short Awards: €25
